Program/ Process analysis
I have many years of program evaluation experience, as most of my career has involved the evaluation of human services systems and how they can be most effective. I sometimes work with other human services consulting firms on large scale program analysis/ design projects.
Leadership Development and Support
I am committed to the development and support of effective human services leaders. Having benefited from excellent mentors across my career, I find satisfaction in providing this type of support to others. I am able to serve in an interim leadership role as part of organizational development, even helping an organization hire their next executive leader.
Organizational and Program Design
Evaluating a system is a strong beginning to the improvement process; however, design and implementation is where success occurs. Whether you desire to restructure your organization, create new positions to better accomplish the work, or implement an innovative approach to solve a pervasive organizational challenge, Blevins Consulting stands ready to help. I bring a creative, solutions-based approach to organizational and program design. One area of specific interest for me over the past 10 years has been integrated human services delivery.
Since a creative design alone does not ensure success, I am available to partner with your organization for project management as needed until your new program or organizational model is fully established.
Public Speaking
I have been speaking publicly since the age of 20 and find the encouragement of others both enjoyable and rewarding. My speaking background and experience include serving as an emcee, corporate event speaker, workshop trainer, lay preacher, civic club presenter, conference keynote speaker, and more. My style can be described as one part storyteller, one part comedian, and two parts motivational speaker with just a dash of Baptist preacher thrown in the mix. If you have an event where I could encourage and motivate your staff or leaders, I would love to talk with you about what I can offer.
About
I am Stoney Blevins, sole proprietor of Blevins Consulting. I began my human services career in 1987 as an eligibility caseworker in Harnett County, NC; and was fortunate to spend 34 of the next 37 years in public human service practice, with 30 years in supervision, program consultation, management, or executive leadership. While much of my early career was in child welfare before becoming a Social Services Director in 2009, my full array of experience spans the areas of Public Assistance, Adult and Aging Services, Work Support, Public Health, and Veteran Services. My specific area of interest has been organizational leadership and design. I retired from public human services in June 2024 as the consolidated Health and Human Services Director in Buncombe County, NC.
In addition to human services, I have also held leadership positions in local churches, non-profit boards and community organizations.
I have been married to my wife Candace for 37 years, have six children, three of whom are happily married, and am Papa to the sweetest granddaughter ever to grace the Commonwealth of Virginia.
