Strategy and Innovation
I have many years of program assessment experience, as most of my career has involved the evaluation of human services systems and how they can be most effective. While evaluating a system is a strong beginning to the organizational improvement process, design and implementation are where true success occurs. Whether you desire to restructure your organization, create new positions to better accomplish the work, or implement an innovative approach to solve a pervasive organizational challenge, Blevins Consulting stands ready to help. I bring a creative, solutions-based approach to organizational and program design.
Leadership Services
I bring over 30 years of experience in supervision, consultation, management, and executive leadership. If your agency needs a leader to fill a part-time or interim role, I am available to serve in various roles such as Executive Director or Strategy Coordinator. I can also mentor leaders while partnering on a project, as well as help organizations find and hire their next executive leader.
Project Management
Since creative design alone does not ensure success, I am available to partner with your organization for project management until a new program or organizational design is fully established. My philosophy of consultation is to walk alongside each organization rather than simply give advice. Effective consultation is not a process performed for an organization or to an organization, but rather with an organization.
Public Speaking
I have been speaking publicly since the age of twenty and find the encouragement of others enjoyable and rewarding. My speaking background and experience includes serving as an emcee, corporate event speaker, workshop trainer, lay preacher, keynote speaker and more. My style can be described as one part storyteller, one part comedian, and one part motivational speaker, with just a dash of Baptist preacher thrown in the mix. If you have an event where I could encourage and motivate your staff or leaders, I welcome the opportunity.
About
I am Stoney Blevins, sole proprietor of Blevins Consulting. I began my career in human services in 1987 as an eligibility specialist in Harnett County, NC, and was fortunate to spend 34 of the next 37 years in public human service practice. While much of my career was in child welfare before becoming a Social Services Director in 2009, my full array of experience spans the areas of public assistance, adult and aging services, work supports, public health, and veteran services. My specific area of interest has always been organizational development and design. I finished my public human services career in June 2024 as the consolidated Health and Human Services Director for Buncombe County, NC.
In addition to public human services, I have also held leadership positions in local churches, non-profit agencies and community organizations. My Christian faith is the foundation of my philosophy of service.
I have been married to my wife Candace for 38 years, have six children, three of whom are happily married, and am blessed with the sweetest granddaughters to ever grace the Commonwealth of Virginia.
